Analytics · Reporting capability
Ask a useful question.
See the records behind the answer.
Analytics is the reporting workspace in the platform, shown here in Standard. Select operational records, define a measure and grouping, and inspect the result. It is a capability, not a separately advertised product.
Build the report around the decision
What changed?
Where did it change?
Start with the question your team needs to answer. The record type, measure, time period, and grouping should follow from it.
- 01
Choose the records
Work orders, equipment, or relevant business records establish the report’s subject.
- 02
Define the measure
Set what to count or measure, the grouping, and the period.
- 03
Review the result
Inspect the visualization and contributing records. Save, publish, or export the view when appropriate.
Author Desk
Define the comparison. Keep its source records.
Compare won and lost opportunity amounts, inspect the contributing records, and save the report as a draft. This example uses the working Author Desk in the deployed demo.
Examples of reporting questions
Give every number a reason to be there.
These are questions to explore with your organization’s records and configuration, not promises of a particular dashboard or outcome.
- Workload
- How much work opened or completed during the period, by location?
- Customer activity
- Which accounts or opportunities contributed to recorded business?
- Service outlook
- What equipment is due in the next service period?
