Equipment records connect ownership, availability and the work around each asset.
Use the shared Asset foundation for equipment identity, location, custody, service history and the resources employees need. Standard carries that foundation into specialized laboratory work.

Equipment history
Follow the individual instrument through its service history and supporting records.Standard by MetraSlate: Metrology Edition demonstration data · Captured 21 October 2026. Confirm the screens and workflows in your pilot configuration.
An equipment record connects the individual item to its owner, site, location, status and service evidence. Reusable manufacturer and model definitions describe the family, while serial numbers, asset references and history identify the actual equipment the organization uses.
The same operating foundation connects employee requisitions, inventory, purchasing, custody and service records. Laboratories can manage their own resources and customer instruments with clear ownership and relationship boundaries.
Company-owned assets keep their own operating history.
The company asset workspace presents the equipment belonging to the organization, with site and due-date views. Staff can inspect the selected asset's identity, status, location, recorded history and available service evidence.
The shared equipment foundation can also hold the organization's IT equipment. A support request can point to the affected equipment record, keeping the request's decision and discussion connected to the item it concerns.
The tool crib connects resources to the people using them.
Issue and return workflows retain responsibility, location, condition and the next readiness requirement around equipment used by employees. The internal store provides the entry for equipment and supply requests, with approval and fulfilment connected to the operating record.
A request for a stocked item and a service request about a broken asset serve different purposes. Keeping each connected to the correct equipment and order helps staff understand what is needed and which handover or decision comes next.
Stock and purchasing explain the resources behind the work.
Inventory records receiving, issuing, counting, adjustment, damage and consumption at locations. Material consumption can be linked to the work order that used it. Supplier orders support partial receipts, stock destinations and packing-slip context.
These relationships let staff follow an item from its supplier receipt to its use or fulfilment. The business can identify the material requirement and the relevant purchase or stock record when a resource is holding work.
Purchasing and receipt
Follow supplier commitments, partial receipts and the resources still to arrive.Standard by MetraSlate: Metrology Edition demonstration data · Captured 21 October 2026. Confirm the screens and workflows in your pilot configuration.
Laboratory and rental evidence stay with the equipment.
For laboratory reference standards, the equipment context connects availability and calibration evidence to the actual standard used in a measurement. Its usage history provides the route back to affected work when an investigation is required.
For rental equipment, physical return and commercial settlement remain connected to the agreement. Billing follows the period already charged, and closure checks for equipment still out or accrued days that remain unbilled.
