The reading.
And the evidence behind it.

Record as-found and as-left measurements, tolerances, uncertainty, and the standards used. Keep that technical context with the calibration record and the certificate that follows.

The measurement record

Calibration readings with as-found and as-left values, position within limits, and standards used.

Define what is being measured.

The datasheet describes the measurement points, units, nominal values, and tolerances. The procedure and service level supply the context for performing and evaluating the work.

Measurement points
Use defined functions and points rather than an unstructured note.
Tolerances
State the allowed deviation, such as ±10 psi, with its unit and source.

Preserve the basis of the result.

A value is useful only with the context needed to interpret it. Record the measurement standards, uncertainty, and applicable decision rule alongside the result.

As found / as left
Keep the condition received distinct from the condition returned.
Review & release
Inspect the technical record before issuing the customer’s certificate.

Defined before the run

The points and their tolerance.

This datasheet shows nominal values with ±10 psi tolerances and 2 psi resolution. The measurement definition is distinct from the individual instrument’s readings.
